Ilhan Gönüler graduated in law from the University of Zurich with a licentiate (lic. iur.) in 2009 and was admitted to the bar in 2013 (Canton of Zurich).

​

After working for several years in a boutique law firm, a leading private bank and a renowned business law firm, Ilhan Gönüler founded GÖNÜLER Attorneys at Law in 2015. Since then, he has practiced mainly in the areas of litigation, white collar crime, corporate advisory (including commercial and corporate law), banking and financial markets law, and private clients. A main focus of his legal practice is the resolution of complex (including contentious and procedural) legal problems, the defense in white collar criminal cases and the advice to companies, in particular banks, regarding corporate governance, ESG, compliance and risk management.

His expertise in these practice areas is based on his proven experience as well as his relevant education and further extensive studies. In addition to his bar admission and his licentiate, Ilhan Gönüler holds an LL.M. from the renowned University of California, Berkeley - School of Law and an MAS in Economic Crime Investigation from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

 

Ilhan Gönüler speaks German (native), Turkish (native), English (fluent), French (good) and Bosnian (basic).
